• Image Data: When you take a photo or upload an image of a product, that image is processed to identify the item.
• Location Data: With your permission, we collect your approximate or precise location (GPS) to provide real-time pricing relevant to your local market (e.g., NGN, KES, ZAR, USD).
• Device Information: We may collect basic info such as device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers to ensure app stability.
• Usage Data: Information on how you interact with the app, such as the number of scans performed.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data strictly for the following purposes:

• Product Identification: Using AI to recognize items in your photos.
• Localized Pricing: Comparing the identified item against regional market databases.
• App Improvement: Analyzing anonymized usage trends to fix bugs and improve the user experience.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

PriceIt utilizes the Google Gemini API for image analysis and price estimation.

• Data Processing: When you scan an image, it is sent to Google's servers for processing via the Gemini API.
• Anonymization: We do not send your name, email, or identity to the Gemini API—only the image and a request for pricing data.

4. Data Storage and Retention

• Local Storage: Your “Scan History” is stored locally on your device. PriceIt does not currently maintain a centralized cloud database of your personal scan history unless explicitly stated in future updates.
• Image Retention: Images sent for analysis are generally not stored by PriceIt after the price estimation is complete.

5. Your Choices and Rights

• Camera & Location Access: You can revoke PriceIt's access to your camera or location at any time through your device settings. Note that the app's core functionality depends on these permissions.
• Data Deletion: Since scan history is stored locally, you can clear your history or delete the app to remove all associated data from your device.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transit from your device to our service providers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as we add new features (like user accounts or cloud syncing). We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app.
